Oh my how time flies!

This is Gina, daughter of Richard and Marquita, niece to Renee, Rhonda and Rebbie. I can't believe that she is now taller than me!!! The first time she spent the night at my house, she was just two years old! She is now 17 and that makes me feel soooooo old! When she was small, she and I used to have the very best time when I'd babysit her. She loved to paint and cook, so we would paint T-shirts and make cookies. Matthew if you are reading this, how old does it make you feel! It seems only yesterday that you and I took Gina to Lexington to see the movie "Lion King" and you carried her on your shoulders! Gina could sing like a little canary so on the way home we were so impressed that she had remembered the words and could carry the tune to the songs in the movie. She was barely 3 at the time. Another Gina story that I love was from that same day (I think) while we were sitting at a traffic light waiting for it to change. Matthew ask Gina "what does a red light mean?" Gina quickly replied; "Stop!" Matthew bragged on her, then ask; "what does a green light mean?" Even quicker Gina shouted "GO!" Matthew really got excited that Gina so young knew the correct answers.....so he then asked; "Ok Gina, what does a yellow light mean?" Gina paused for a moment or two, and appeared to be thinking really hard...suddenly her little face lit up as if to say ah ha, I do know the answer...she leaned over toward Matthew and confidently replied;
"It's not red, it's not green!" *Note to Gina...Well sweetie, now that you are driving, I hope you have learned the value of that yellow light! I wanted to share this story just to brag on you, and maybe you can give your Aunt Rebbie a few lessons. That woman can't drive worth a crap!

A Thankful Day

Everyone had a wonderful meal today at Kalem & Jessica's. Kalem started the meal with a beautiful blessing of the food, then everyone chowed down.

Amber's fella, Amber and Rhonda (sorry Amber, for the life of me I could not remember his name.)
Rebbie(the camera hog) and Richard
Rebbie, Fred and Mary E.
I'm happy to say that poor Fred is now looking a lot better since he's been fed! Had it been left up to his wife tho, he would probably still have that starved and skeletal look as he did in a previous posted photo. I saw to it that he got a big plate of food when she refused to make him one (I've got to keep on the good side of my "ham man".)

Happy Thanksgiving to "Da Cassiday's"

Aloha Thad, Gloria and Kyle! Happy Thanksgiving from your family here in Kentucky. We wish you could be here to share the day with this bunch of "Turkeys", your sister Renee and Da rest of Da Cassidays!

Emery and her Grandmother from Texas

Emery says, "Happy Thanksgiving Grandee!"

Where's my Ham Rebbie? And what have you done with Fred?

Thanksgiving for several years was always at Rebbie's house. (Her hubby Fred could cook the best ham in the whole world) Suddenly, this tradition came to a halt, and Thanksgiving last year was,and this year will be at Kalem and Jessica's house. I had noticed that Fred was losing weight and looking kinda pale, but I just blamed it all on the stress of being a lawyer. Now, I'm not so certain! These last pictures of me and Rebbie with her hubby Fred appear somewhat suspicious! I sure miss that HAM!

School Picture Time...

Alexis looking cute!
Gabe with his "Cheese face" on!
"Why do they make you say cheese anyway! Why can't you say something cool like Power Rangers Rule!"

And the saga continues.....

"Maybe if I act bored and sad, Mamaw will take me to play with Mimi today!"
"Yea, my little pitiful face worked! (Mamaw is so easy!)
"Thanks Mimi for having lunch with me!. When I get old enough to drive, I'll take you some where fancy, like McDonalds!"

The Look of Love

Mike emailed me these photos of himself with Emery. I absolutely adore the look on their faces. You can just "feel" the love. Looking at these pictures makes me so proud of Mike and Brooke for being the kind of parents that they are. Emery was such a blessing to our family, but in return she has been blessed with them.

I've got friends in HIGH places, and I've got friends in LOW places....I just can't think of who my HIGH PLACE friends are!!!!

Belated Birthday Pictures

Emmie and "Puh-Puh"
Jake and Emery jumping and sliding.

TWO Monkeys

I can't believe that I forgot to put pictures of Emery's birthday on our Brag Page... I guess I got so carried away with getting started, that I failed to, so here are photos of Emmie's birthday. Jake had so much fun that practically every weekend since, he asks to go to "Mimi's birthday party". Emery loves "Curious George", so that was her party theme. Brooke and a friend of hers made the cake, and it was so cute! Brooke just freaks me out sometimes with how creative she is! She always has the best ideas, and always finds a way to follow them through. Jake and Emery had lots of fun jumping and sliding in the Little Tykes "jump and slide" thingy. The photo of Emery with the doll was Renee's gift to her. For whatever reason, Emery named the doll "Puh-Puh" (and she says it in a whisper). Too funny to hear her say it!

Here Comes That Train Again! (The Hot Tamale Train That Is!)

Yes John, I had another picture of you running. Here it is! Woo-woo! I thought it was time to suprise you again, and have you as Star of the Day on our page. I asked your Dad about you this week. He said now that you were in college, you were having to run with "the big dogs", well sweetie, as long as you are nipping at their heels, I know you can hold your own with them. Just remember how Giggy told you to always run....(with your heart in your feet, and don't ever look back)...in case you've forgotten! Oh, and I think I also told you to pretend you were being chased by a big fat OLD woman! That ought to give you some need for speed!

Mamaw gets to go somewhere!!!

Renee has bragged all week that she is finally getting a day off today(from work and babysitting too)and is going with one of her best friends(Vickie) to Lexington for a girls day out. (She has been needing the break.) I know she's looking forward to spending the day just for herself for a change. Heck, she is so excited about it that she started getting ready to go last night!!! Have fun girls!

Yea, another "grandbaby" to brag about!

Congratulations to my good friends Kent and Kathy (my unofficial son and daughter-in-law) on the arrival of their first grand child. A 7 pound boy named Judah Emmerson! I can't wait to get to see him! So OK Kent, now that you are a grandpa, you don't need that "cool car", so bring it on over and park it in my driveway!!!

Rebbie & Giggy ~ By this time next year! (Brenda & Mary E.)

Well I suppose this proves there really is a "Red Hat Society"! (Just not in Danville Rebbie) but to "brag" a little, Looking good in 2009!

Eat your heart out Sponge Bob!

"If good looks, talent, and high IQ don't get ya a girlfriend, always go the high fashion route! Just make sure your hat matches your shirt! Yep, It works every time!"

Leave me alone, I'm resting!

Whether playing with it, sitting in it, or just laying on it, Jake takes a break from a hard day of "Shopping".

Not a Tune I Recognize!

This is Emery's latest "I have to do it at least once a day" new thing. She is definitely the most climbing young'un I've ever tried to keep up with! Her Dad told me that last Thursday at gymnastics she climbed an 8 ft. rock climbing (type) wall unassisted! He said the other kids had to have their parents help them up the wall, but not "Little Miss Independent". Today she climbed upon the coffee table, yelled "one... two... nine... blast off" and before I could grab her, she jumped! She landed flat of her butt. I was certain that it had to hurt, but she got up laughing. I about fainted!

Bat Girl and Blue Power Ranger

Jennifer emailed me these photos of Gabe and Alexis in their Halloween costumes for this year. Thanks Jennifer! Gabe loves the Power Rangers for sure! I can't wait to see what all the kiddies will be next year! Maybe Emery and Jake can be Little Red Riding Hood and the Little Bad Wolf!

November 7, 2008

Once a fox, always a fox...

I'd have to say quite a bit of "strutting" has apparently taken place since these photos of Rebbie and Renee were taken. It's not hard to tell they are sisters! They could have passed for twins waaaayyy back then! Be warned girls, no telling what I might put on here next!

***First photo "Rebbie", second photo "Renee", bottom photo Rebbie & Renee

And the "Me and my big mouth award" goes to......Renee~

What can I say! And you do know where to find "sympathy" don't ya Mamaw? Haaaaaaa

More little Goblins

Alexis and Gabe in their last years costumes. I do not have their picture for this Halloween. Alexis wants to be a Vet when she grows up, so that is what she was dressed for to trick or treat. I made her the "scrub" outfit and she also wore it to career day at school. Gabe was Superman last year . This year he is all into the "Power Rangers". If I get their photo for this year, I'll post it later. The cute "Little Pumpkin" is Nate, Emery's other little best friend.

I Love my big truck!

Ricky Henry, our local mechanic had this Tonka Truck when he was a little boy. He is now in his 40's. His wife had a yard sale and told him it was time to get rid of some of his childhood toys. (silly woman) but anyway, I (Mary E.)bought it for Jake. This truck is in mint condition, and definitely worth many dollars more than what I paid for it. If Jake keeps it as long as Ricky did, and keeps it in as good shape as Ricky did, then he will have a real Tonka Treasure someday!
