Breakfast in Bed!

Emery has strep throat and had not eaten very well in a few days. Her fever is down now, and she's feeling a little better. Her Dad made her pancakes and served her breakfast in bed. From the smile on her face, she is either really enjoying the special treatment or telling the world; "My Dad is soooooo easy".....Yep, you will find him, as well as me and her Mom wrapped around her little finger! I know she was disappointed that we didn't get to go to Irvine to see Alexis for her Birthday because all week she'd say; "Alexis's birthday party?" I'd tell her yes, that it was this week end, and she'd say; "I can't wait!" Well Emery, we will still get to go, just not this week end. So Emery, you get well soon and tell Dad that since your Mom is sick too, she might like breakfast in bed!

ZAP! You Are Now A Handsome Prince!

It seems that "Princess Ki-tollie" is having problems turning her frog into a prince! And yes, that is the name she gave herself!! (I may not have spelled it right, but I tried to spell it like she was saying it.) Anyway, she had fun playing the princess, and we had fun making her crown. To make a long story short, after beating the crap outta the frog with her magic wand (and no prince appeared,) her next wish was for a Mickey Mouse Ice Cream! Yep, she got that, so who can say there's no power quite like that of a paper crown, a tattered blanket (for a robe,) the stick to her xylophone (for a wand, ) or going where your imagination can take you.

The Acorn Didn't Fall Too Far From The Tree~

Emery was running through the house, when suddenly her pants fell down. As I was pulling them up for her, I remembered that a few weeks ago as her Dad was carrying her in the house with one arm, and her diaper bag on the other, his pants just dropped to around his ankles! I told him it was a good thing he was here and not at work! I guess having "no butt" just runs in the family!

At Last, A "Pog" of My Own!

*A Note from Emery:

Thank you "Grandee" for my new frog! I have had fun with it today. When Giggy asked me what I had named it, I told her "Jake", but when Dad asked me, I told him "froggy", so I'm not sure yet what I will call my new friend, but I am really happy that he made the long hop all the way from Texas to here! I promise to take care of it, and I have been feeding it "Tickle bugs".

PS: He likes watching TV with me!

A Happy Day for Jake and Emery! FINALLY!

Jake and Emery had not had a day to play together since before Christmas until yesterday! Mamaw called and said that Jake was at her house (and not sick anymore) and for Emery to come over for awhile. When I asked Emery is she wanted to go, she did her happy dance, waving her arms in the air and said; "I can't wait!" Truly, she meant it because I could not keep her still long enough to get her coat and hat on and get her over there! They had a picnic and played til nap time for both! Emery cried a bit when she had to come home, but in a few short minutes she was asleep in my lap. When she woke up, she told me she had fun! I am so looking forward to spring/summer when they can play outside on the swing set!

And I thought the Ice Storm was bad.....

It seems that "Hurricane Emery" can leave a path through the living room in the short five minutes that it took for me to run in the kitchen and put barbecue sauce on a few pork chops that I was cooking for her mom and dad's supper! She was sitting quietly on the couch, watching TV, having a snack, so I thought that would be a good time to check on the chops! I could hear her moving about, but little did I know she was taking the cushions off the couch, emptying her toy box, pulling diapers from the package, and creating havoc! When I walked back in the room, she looked at me and grinned and said; "Emmie make a mess!" Yes, she helped pick it up and restore the room to livability! Needless to say, she does quite well entertaining herself!
