Jake's Christmas 2009
Looking at Jake's presents (all wrapped in Lightening McQueen paper)really lets you know what a big "Cars" fan he is! Everything from underwear, pj's, shoes, and items too numerous to mention found the way to under Jake's tree! Looking at the amount of gifts he received, I think he needs "Mater's tow truck" to come help move it all to his room!

Christmas Eve at Matthew's 2009
Michael, Brooke, Emery and I went to Irvine tonight to have Christmas with Matthew, Jennifer, Alexis and Gabriel. We all went to Candlelight service at Matthew's church after a quick visit to Sand Hill to see my brother's family. It was a sad but nice visit. After church, everyone had bowls of hot chili then the kids opened gifts. Emery liked Alexis and Gabriel's tree too. She spent a lot of time looking at all of their ornaments, and really liked Matthew's Christmas village display. I was so worn out by the time we got back home that I went straight to bed. That was a big mistake because I woke up at 3 am and have been up ever since! Looking on the bright side, that gave me plenty time to update my grandma page!!!

Merry Christmas my precious grand babies! Your Giggy loves all three of you very very much!

Heigh Ho, Heigh Ho, it's off to Play we go......

Emery loves the story book and movie "Snow White". Practically every day she wants us to play "Snow White". We do indeed! She plays the part of Snow White and we use juice or Ale-8 for the "magic potion". She takes a sip then very dramatically closes her eyes (to sleep until the handsome prince comes by and kisses her on the cheek. Yesterday we had a mess to clean up because she played it to the hilt and let the cup of juice fall slowly from her hand! She is absolutely Emery the drama princess! I play the part of the Queen asking the mirror on the wall "Who's the fairest of them all?" Of course when I sip the magic potion, it turns me into an "ugly old woman" who gives Snow White the sleeping potion. We also play the parts of the Seven Dwarfs and this is her portrayal of "Grumpy". She imitates quite well the parts of Grumpy, Dopey, Sneezy, Sleepy, Bashful, and Happy. She says she can't play Doc because she don't have any glasses on! (Giggy gets to be Doc!) This photo is Emery's "Grumpy" face.
.....And what would she do with out her beloved crock! Yesterday she was using it as her "wishing well"...She would lean over into it and sing the song that Snow White sings at the wishing well in the movie. Emery knows every word of it and sings it at the top of her little voice. Never a dull moment!!!!

"I'm wishing...I'm wishing...for the one I love...to find me...to find me...today...tooooodaaaaay!"

Playing at Mamaw's House
Renee kept Emery for me awhile this morning so that I could go to town. She had fun with Jake playing with Renee's Christmas decorations.

I'm glad to see Jake still in him P.J.'s too this morning. Maybe it's an "age 3" phase they are going through and will hopefully pass soon, because Emery wants to keep her pajamas on all day lately for some reason! She used to couldn't wait to get out of them! Maybe it's the cold weather, and they just feel cozy!

Little Island Angel
This is a picture of a little girl who lives in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, (Marshall Islands) that Mamaw Renee "adopts" each year at Christmas.

This past week Renee got the big package mailed, as it takes a month or longer to reach there. Renee's brother lives and works on the island of Kwajalin (for the US government) which is part of the Marshall Islands. This little girls grandfather comes by boat from his island over to Kwajalin daily to work as locksmith on the base. They live very poorly with no electricity and very little extra water. Renee's brother told her that each year when this little girls grandfather receives and open the box from Kentucky, he always cries in appreciation. Renee always send gifts for the grandmother and grandfather as well. This little child may not have much all year long, but Christmas time is always very special because of Renee's big heart. Renee sends clothes, toys, cookies, candy, and many other treats. So, my note to Renee is; "I thought this good deed earned a mention on our brag page!"
So There!

America's Next Top Model
I do believe Emery was getting a little tired, but I loved these pics of her. She was modeling some of the hats and bows that her mom makes to sell. Brooke also makes pillow case dresses and tutu's and has plenty of cute things for sale. Of course, I think her beautiful little model is what makes her crafts sell so fast!

Giggy's Birthday 11-2-09
Matthew and Michael and their families came to go out to eat for my birthday. Brooke brought chocolate cake with candles and colorful polka dots(that Emery picked out.) We went for Chinese which I'd been kind of craving. It was really good. Boy oh boy, looking at these pictures ...."I'm OLD"........boo hoo.......

Days Gone By

This photo is my grandmother Etta Warmouth Muncie holding my little sister Lucy Elizabeth and that's me standing along side not wanting my picture taken. I do remember the reason tho, I had chiggers under my arm and that were itching (causing me to be in a bad mood). I'm definitely making an "Emmie" face in this pic!
*Note to my California cousin "Beans", hope you see this photo of your Aunt Etta~

Emery's Newest Trick
I spent most of the day trying to make sure that Emery didn't fall off the couch now that she has discovered that standing on her head must be such fun! She spends most of the day climbing, jumping, (and not listening to me when I tell her "don't do that") Of course she always asks "why?" It don't seem to carry a lot of weight when I tell her "because you might get hurt!" When her Dad came to pick her up after work, she had to show him that she'd learned a new trick! (Standing on her head)

Another Play Day
Jake and Mamaw came over yesterday morning to get Emery. She went home with them for awhile. They were playing so well for a few minutes, then Renee heard Emery saying "No Jake, No!" Jake was saying "Calm down Emmie, calm down!" Renee went to check what they were doing, and Jake had her curling iron,(not plugged in) trying to fix Emery's hair!!! She didn't get a picture of that, but we thought it was funny! Jake then came home with Emery to play for awhile, so they had a good day together.

Emery's Good Day
California Cousins, Rich, Rick, Kim, and Bev

Emery had a very exciting day today! The First excitement for the morning was Jake came over to play with her for awhile, then she went home with him to play awhile longer. As she was getting her coat on to go, I gave her the "play nicely and share" talk, and also told her if she needed to use the potty to not go in her pull-up, but to please tell Renee. She said O.K. I didn't put much faith in that, because she always gets so excited when she goes over there that the first thing she usually does is poop her pants! Well, yea and good job Emmie, because she did tell Renee, and did use the pot! Progress at last!! While she was there, she got to meet Vicki, our #1 fan and faithful follower of this "Proud Grandma" page. (Vicki has seen thousands of photos of her, but never met her in person.)
The excitement continued when she came home and found that she had "mail", (a card with pictures and a birthday gift enclosed) from our California cousins! She loved it! She pranced around waving the card, and kept repeating; "I got mail!" (Thanks Bev) When her Dad came to pick her up after work, she got so excited telling him about her good day, pooping in the pot at Renee's, getting to play with Jake, and getting mail, that yep....need I finish the story? "Daddy, hand me a clean pull-up!"

"Doctor" Emery
For Emery's birthday, Renee got her a Doctor's kit, and I made her the scrub jacket because Emery loves to play doctor so much! We have wasted more band-aids on imaginary boo-boos, and taken handful after handful of pretend medicine, so that "Dr. Emery" can make us feel better! She has given me pretend shots, and made me blow my nose when it didn't really need it! She often says she wants to be a doctor when she gets big~ I hope she will be some day, and can take care of itty bitty babies like she was! My other granddaughter Alexis wants to be a Vet, so maybe if their goals don't change a dozen times between now and then, there will be a "doctor" in the family.

Emery's 3rd Birthday Party
Emery's party was a week late, but what a wonderful day for her this weekend. The original plan was for last Saturday, to be at the park with pony rides and a cowboy/cowgirl theme. The weather did not permit. Change of plans and change of theme, so she wanted a "Snow White" party. Her favorite movies and books at the time are Snow White and Cinderella. She loves playing the princess! Her cake was adorable. Her Mom took toys that Emery already had and decorated the cake. Emery loved it! She also got to dress up as Snow White, even down to the bow in her hair that her Mom made had a picture of Snow White on it.
